Rajadhani Business School organized an industrial/plant visit to Adani Vizhijam International Seaport Ltd on 18 May, 2022. The Vizhinjam International Transhipment Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport is an ambitious project taken up by Government of Kerala. It is designed primarily to cater container transhipment besides multi-purpose and break bulk cargo. The port is being currently developed in landlord model with a Public Private Partnership component on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (“DBFOT”) basis.
The industrial visit was attended by 70 students of MBA fourth semester students and two faculty members. The main objective behind the visit was to make students aware about how various activities related to port construction and port management with specific reference to operations. Our students were given a overall tour of the port, witnessing the terminals and loading & unloading operations from cargo vessels. They were then taken to the container terminal. The students apart from getting an overall exposure to the port activities were given detailed overview of the operations of containers, planning of space requirements, loading and unloading intricacies in practice were explained in detail by Mr. Sunil Kumar General Manager (Projects) and his team.
